While at TCA, Quinto spoke to / Film and was asked about the situation of Star Trek 4 . Quinto confirmed that there are currently 'no plans' for a new movie, though he will be interested in returning if something goes well together:
“In my opinion we have had a comfortable discussion that for a while about the franchise of this series. Although I'm still in the process of processing, I don't know exactly what to say other than having no plans for the next movie to happen at this time.
I feel like it has been an anchor for my creative life for over 10 years so if I could come back this would be fun. I love my Star Trek family so we'll want to see everything go on in Star Trek 4. ”
